Abstract:
Myoelectric activity has been observed to distribute consistently unevenly within the muscle volume [1]. This uneven distribution of activity leads us into the question of whether the timing and degree of activation estimated from surface electromyograms (EMGs) collected locally depend on the electrodes’ location. Here we address this issue for the gastrocnemius muscle during gait.
