Post-extraction interforamina immediate implant prosthesis. Case report

Objectives. Aim of the study is to present a review of literature concerning the oral rehabilitation by immediate mandibular post-extractive implants and to describe a clinical case as an example of immediate prosthetic rehabilitation, despite the presence of few teeth affected by perimplantitis 1-10. Material and Methods. In everyday practice, the dentist is confronted with teeth contemporarily affected by endodontic, periodontal and reconstructive problems. Saving such teeth requires a complex multidisciplinary approach, and carries out a high risk of failure in the mid and long-term. On the other hand, the advent of implantology techniques and their growing diffusion in general dental practice give the possibility to simplify the approach to the treatment of severely compromised teeth by simply extracting and replacing them with implants. Results and conclusions. The use of post-extraction implants combined with immediate prosthetic rehabilitation has become a safe and easy procedure in daily clinical practice.
