Modelli di giustizia militare nel Settecento. Riflessioni e confronti tra dottrina e prassi

The essay takes into consideration the models of military justice that spread in the eighteenth century between Habsburg Lombardy, England and the Kingdom of Naples. The aim is to test the opposing assessments expressed by intellectuals and jurists of different backgrounds (Verri, Beccaria, Blackstone) by comparing them, on the one hand, with the research available on the real operation of English military justice in the 18th century and, on the other, with the structure of the military trial as attested in the Pratiche that document its rules and conduct in relation to the Imperial and Neapolitan troops.
