Guerra, eretici e autorità della Chiesa in Gaspare Ricciullo Del Fosso (1496-1592): la via di uno “spirituale” nell’Italia dell’Inquisizione

During the passage from the Humanism to the Counter-Reformation, -from the Church of Council to the Church of Inquisition -, the cultural, intellectual and political changes were important and uncountable. The present article focuses the attention on Gaspare Ricciullo Del Fosso, first “Lutheran” than Bishop of Reggio Calabria in the time of the Waldesian repression. In his Oratio ad Sacrosanctum Oecumenicum Concilium Tridentinum, qua de Ecclesiae auctoritate et imitandis apostolis disseritur, given at the Council of Trent in 1562, and in his manuscript work entitled Perché avanti la venuta di Christo non si guereggiasse per conto di religione, et altri particulari, the contribution to literary debate of 1567 proposed by Cardinal Marcantonio Da Mula, he proposed his ideas on the Church authority, the heresy and the reasons of the war among Christians.
