abstract:
Teaching Dialogue Interpreting is a collection of papers concerned with the training of dialogue interpreters, dialogue interpreting being interpreter-mediated communication in face-to-face (or telephone) interactions occurring mainly in work-related settings (e.g. business negotiations, doctor-patient consultations, lawyer-client interviews). The book brings together work done by scholars in the fields of applied linguistics and interpreting studies, who combine various theoretical and methodological backgrounds with extensive experience as professional interpreters and interpreter trainers. The introduction to the volume is divided into 5 sections: 1. Rationale; 2. Dialogue interpreting: from theory to practice; 3. Research-based proposals for dialogue interpreter education; 4. Organization of the volume; 5. Conclusion
