L'eguaglianza di genere tra mutamenti sociali e nuove tecnologie. Percorsi di diritto antidiscriminatorio

The equality principle is the cornerstone of the western democratic legal orders; still, it is difficult to define it in practical terms. The antidiscrimination law represents an attempt to focus on the substantive dimension of equality, both at a supranational and at a national level, being on of the most relevant questions of our time.
Through a legal and philosophical analysis, the volume offers a reflection on some fundamental aspects of antidiscrimination law, with reference to gender issues.
In particular, through a specific interpretation of the equality principle and the principle of personal freedom, it aims at understanding the impact of gender discrimination, the strategies of gender mainstreaming and women’s empowerment (set forth by the Conference of Beijing in 1995 and with reference to a “relational” view of autonomy), as well as the transformations produced by new technologies in the relationship between the sexes.
