abstract:
Phonetic awareness is understood to be more than the ability to perceive meaning-differentiating aspects auditory and to implement them in pronunciation, which would rather be described as phonological awareness. Here it is not a matter of being "understood", but rather of fulfilling socio-pragmatic functions and achieving the intended communicative effect in conversation. In order to prevent a negative speech effect and to do justice to the demand for situationally appropriate speech expression, pronunciation training must aim at a native speaker's model and authenticity.
