abstract:
Nowadays, contemporary tv series are studied as “complex tv” or “serial medial ecosystems” (Innocenti, Pescatore 2011; Mittel 2015). the Italian Gomorra. La serie translates and reworks both Roberto Saviano’s novel Gomorra and Matteo Garrone’s movie Gomorrah.
We will face some rhetorical and socio-semiotical operations that contribute to create the contemporary narrative ecosystems, focusing on the Gomorra. La serie case. We will explore items of transmedia storytelling (Jenkins 2006), intertextuality and intermediality, which work crossing the borders between media and building a larger idea of “transmediality” (Saldre, Torop 2012; Lotman 1992).
