“Sulla valenza pubblica dei rituali defissori a Selinunte”

Focusing on the latest editions of the Selinus corpus of Tabuale defixionum the aim of this study is to point out the importance of the sources of this corpus for un anthropological reflection in magical practices.The analysis of various textual and extratextual elements suggest a public value of such documents and leads toi the hypothesis of a greatercomplexity of such practices and the existence of a magic tradition of curse-tablets with an official character, contextually and historically determined in VBC Sicily.
