abstract:
A fundamental question of theoretical linguistics, discussed for example in Chomsky (1995, 2001a), Chomsky, Gallego, and Ott (2019), is if and how the human language faculty provides an optimal solution to the problem of connect- ing form and meaning. Here we address this issue in the domain of Genitive Case and its superficially variable externalization.
