PIGANI Laura

Laura Pigani is an Associate Professor of Analytical Chemistry at the Department of Chemical and Geological Sciences, University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. She obtained her Master’s degree in Chemistry cum laude in 1998 and earned her PhD in Chemical Sciences in 2002.
Her research focuses on various aspects of electroanalysis, with particular emphasis on:
- the synthesis and characterization of modified electrodes based on conducting polymers and organic/inorganic composite materials;
- the development of amperometric sensors for the determination of analytes in complex real matrices;
- the design and implementation of electronic tongues for the blind analysis and classification of food samples.
She is the author of 98 peer-reviewed scientific publications, with an H-index of 28 and over 2,000 citations. She has actively participated in numerous national and international research projects.
