SpaceLAB aims to develop testing systems for the aerospace sector in highly critical areas for the qualification and acceptance of components and subsystems for flight components. The goal is to improve performance by reducing the number of tests and in-service failures, while also promoting the relationship between space and the green economy. In particular, the two main areas of interest are shock tests and outgassing tests in a vacuum. Both types of tests present a high level of innovation and strategic importance not only for the Emilia Romagna region but also for the entire country. Currently, there are no laboratories in the region capable of performing these types of tests, and there are very few facilities available in Europe. Innovation in the aerospace field is growing rapidly and represents a strategic driver for economic and social development. In this context, the SpaceLAB project aims to develop and make available to local companies the advanced design and testing technologies developed by the participating regional laboratories through the creation of dedicated test machines accessible at a dedicated laboratory.
