Strumenti Digitali Integrati per il Monitoraggio Strutturale, la Diagnostica e la Manutenzione Predittiva di Ponti e Viadotti
Project The assessment of the conservation status of bridges and viaducts is essential to maintain the safety of transport infrastructure and to efficiently plan maintenance interventions. The project will develop integrated digital tools that, by combining innovative methodologies for surveying, diagnostics, and structural monitoring, will enable the prediction of the remaining life of bridges and viaducts based on their degradation status. Methodologies based on the use of drones for geometric surveying of structures in hard-to-reach positions will be developed; diagnostic protocols will be defined based on innovative tools such as ground-penetrating radar and ultrasonic tomography to identify defects and estimate the degradation status; methodologies for dynamic structural monitoring will be implemented, also based on the application of machine learning techniques, and techniques for static monitoring based on satellite interferometry. From the analysis and integration of the large amounts of data provided by these tools, digital models will be defined for simulating the state of the structures and estimating their remaining life to guide decision-making processes related to maintenance planning.
