Digital-based Integrated Advance Manufacturing Architectures for fabrication of large-scale parts with Novel Technologies
Project DIAMANT's objective is the development of a new integrated architecture to support the production processes of an intelligent factory (smart factory 4.0). The project envisages a factory in which automated production modules, here called "processing modules", and human operators are placed side by side, and which carries out manufacturing and repair operations on large-scale parts with high quality and accuracy. DIAMANT will leverage the latest technologies prototyped by applied research departments of technology centers and enterprises (spin-offs and established companies) to provide a scalable approach to digitalization and automation (Industry 4.0 objectives) in industrial sectors dealing with manufacturing on a large scale. To do this, DIAMANT proposes an innovative approach based on three key concepts, namely 1) the planning and monitoring of the production process of high quality and precision parts, 2) the analysis and prediction of the production process, based on digital twins and artificial intelligence techniques, and 3) progressive calibration phases for improved system accuracy and final product quality.
