Holistically Optimised LOGISTICS Networks

Project
The HOLOGISTICS approach is to focus on how these exciting innovations can be combined into an integrated green synchromodal logistics network, fitting together the pieces of the jigsaw, and where necessary extending and refining the building blocks to complete the picture. A key feature is the integration of the physical and digital innovations of the logistics world. Innovative low- and zero- emission transport, interoperable transport units and robotic/autonomous handling provide the backbone of the future Physical Internet. The digital layer has been enhanced by IoT, AI, 5G and sophisticated logistics planning software systems, guided by initiatives such as the DTLF and the common European mobility data space. In other cases innovative business and governance models have been explored and developed. HOLOGISTICS will bring this together into a Holistically Optimised Logistics paradigm – a scalable multimodal multi-layer approach that implements the Physical Internet vision.
