The primary objective of this project is to deliver a functional, scalable, and
performance-validated SERS (Surface Enhanced Raman Scattering) substrate platform that can be
tailored for high-sensitivity molecular detection across a range of applications. These include
diagnostics, food analysis, environmental monitoring, and forensic science, where trace-level
detection is critical.
To achieve this, the project will focus on the development, characterisation, and application testing
of Grove Nanomaterials' gold nanoparticle rafts. These are densely packed, polymer-linked
nanostructures designed to enhance the Raman scattering signal of target molecules. The project
will scale their production, refine their optical performance, and test their functionality using real-
world probe molecules.
