Borges dedicated special attention to translation. As a writer and cultural organizer he asserts a new reading strategy which proposes the use of creative infidelity of translation in order to read literature from an unconventional position and thereby breaking the normal distinction between truth and fiction. His originality as an Argentine and cosmopolitan writer lies in this displacement: from the margins of an iconic metropolis of modernity, he reinvents a cultural tradition for Argentina and states his idea of reading and translation as an irreverent gesture towards any kind of text.
