Análisis discursivo, tensiones y construcciones simbólicas en torno a la cifra de desaparecidos en Argentina

On 24 March 1976, the Argentine Armed Forces overthrew the democratically
elected government, establishing the Proceso de Reorganización Nacional (1976‑83). This civil-military regime implemented a systematic plan of repression involving the disappearance of people. Since then, the issue of the number of disappeared people (desaparecidos) has generated persistent controversies and debates, with divergent positions in both political and social spheres, as well as in academia. Against this backdrop, this article explores the discourse surrounding the figure of 30,000 disappeared individuals.
