Abstract:
The contribution offers an analysis of some of the reflections and solutions proposed during the extended debate started at the Second Vatican Council about religious freedom. It then emphasizes some moments of the debate on religious freedom in which it is possible to recognize the wide range of questions, expectations, fears and theological perspectives issued and broadened by Vatican II. In this perspective, three particular moments seem to be the most significant: the preparatory phase, the second and the third intersession.
