Don Lorenzo Milani e la Lettera a don Piero. Genesi e redazioni

The archival excavation carried out for the critical edition of the complete works dedicated to don Lorenzo Milani’s writings (1923-1967) on the fiftieth anniversary of his death (26 June 1967) has brought to light a mass of documentation that allows to better understand and study the figure and the work of the prior of Barbiana. The purpose of this article is to analyse the Letter to Don Piero, written mostly between 1953 and the first half of 1954, which remained unpublished until the publication of Esperienze pastorali (Lef, Florence 1958), and then included as Seconda Appendice in the only work signed ‘Lorenzo Milani’.
